The PASC/PJVA Virtual Event will take place online at Noon until 1:00 pm on the timely topic of “Cross-industry Perspectives on the New Carbon Pricing Environment in Alberta – a Panel of the Pro’s in the Trenches.”
With David Crawford, Indirect Tax Partner at RSM Canada LLP, Jeff Smith, Manager Indirect Tax, Pembina Pipeline Corporation, Dan Beauchamp, Commodity Tax Manager, Imperial Oil Canada and Evan Capatos, Tax Manager, Gibson Energy.
The panelists are professional tax practitioners working in Upstream/E&P as well as Pipelines & Transportation, Gas Processing & Marketing and Gas Liquids Production & Sales. The panel will address their real life experiences with the transition from the previous Alberta carbon levy regime, to no regime, then back to a hybrid system (Ottawa’s carbon tax) involving the federal fuel charge and the new Alberta carbon pricing on emissions known as TIER or the Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction legislation.
