  • INTRODUCTION

With the recent release of Alberta’s draft methane regulations and Environment & Climate Change Canada’s methane rules now in final form, oil and gas producers will be required to collect their emissions inventory and build their leak detection and repair program. The most critical pre-regulatory planning measure companies need to consider is their data collection and management system. CNTRAL offers a turn key solution for producers to manage their vent and leak inventory, fugitive emission repairs, and overall LDAR performance.

    Joshua Pinter, Product Manager

    Amit Uttam, Platform Engineer

    BACKGROUND

For oil and gas producers in Canada, emissions quantification and data collection management systems are critical. Equipment and emissions inventories require large volumes of data to transfer from the field to a centralized system and may be required to be in place as early as January 1, 2019. Managing repair data to ensure the successful implementation of a fugitive emissions management program also requires a robust data system that can be accessed by both the field and corporate staff. CNTRAL’s mobile and web-based platform allows for immediate data collection and tracking that can be monitored and reported to ensure regulatory compliance.

The CNTRAL Platform™ also integrates with popular asset management solutions, such as SAP, Maximo and JDE, by automatically creating a work order when a regulatory action is required, thus eliminating double entry between regulatory inspections and your work order management systems. The CNTRAL Platform™ uses a cross-platform mobile application to capture data in the field that is then seamlessly synchronized with CNTRAL Web so it can be accessed by maintenance, environmental compliance and corporate roles. The system supports visual, optical gas imaging (OGI) and Method 21 inventory and inspections with one-click reporting. Additionally, a complete audit trail is retained on each and every record, capturing when, who and what for each change.

It is an inclusive fugitive emissions data management system positioned to provide producers with the ability to accurately track and manage their data without compromising data integrity. The system will best position companies to evaluate the most cost-effective compliance measures available to them when managing fugitive and vented emissions.

CNTRAL Inc. has more than 10 years of experience providing the CNTRAL Platform™ to large and small producers throughout Canada and the United States, managing nearly 100 million records on the platform for LDAR and fugitive emissions.
